MEGA x MEGA Parade: New Japanese Pokémon High Class Set Reportedly Coming February 2027

A new Japanese Pokémon TCG High Class Pack is on the horizon, and this time Mega Evolution looks set to take centre stage.

MEGA x MEGA Parade is reportedly scheduled to release in Japan on 19 February 2027, with Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y among the Pokémon expected to headline the set.

While the complete card list and artwork haven't been revealed yet, the early information already gives us a good idea of what collectors can expect from one of Japan's biggest upcoming Pokémon TCG releases.

What Is MEGA x MEGA Parade?

MEGA x MEGA Parade (MEGA x MEGA パレード) first appeared through a Japanese trademark filing in July 2026.

The name immediately attracted attention because Pokémon's Japanese High Class sets traditionally use names closely connected to the main mechanic of their respective TCG era.

Previous examples include VMAX Climax, VSTAR Universe, Shiny Treasure ex, Terastal Festival ex and MEGA Dream ex.

With Mega Evolution now firmly back at the centre of the Pokémon TCG, the name MEGA x MEGA Parade certainly fits the pattern.

Current reports indicate that it will be Japan's next High Class Pack, featuring numerous Mega Evolution Pokémon alongside returning cards from previous releases.

MEGA x MEGA Parade is currently reported to release in Japan on:

That's an unusual date for a Japanese High Class Pack.

These premium sets traditionally arrive towards the end of the year, often in November or December. This time, however, Pokémon's release calendar looks considerably different.

The worldwide 30th Celebration release takes place in September 2026, followed by more Japanese Mega Evolution products in November. This appears to have pushed the usual High Class release into early 2027.

For collectors accustomed to buying the year's High Class set around Christmas, it's a fairly significant change.

Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y Take Centre Stage

One of the most interesting details revealed so far is the inclusion of Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y.

Both forms made their Pokémon TCG debut in Mega Dimension, and they're expected to return as major features of MEGA x MEGA Parade.

The name itself could even be a reference to having the two Mega Raichu forms together.

They shouldn't be the only Mega Evolutions included, either.

Everything we know about the set so far points towards MEGA x MEGA Parade bringing together a much larger selection of Mega Evolution Pokémon from across the current era.

Exactly which Pokémon will receive new cards or alternative artwork remains unknown.

What Is a Pokémon High Class Pack?

If you're relatively new to collecting Japanese Pokémon cards, High Class Packs are different from normal Japanese booster sets.

They're premium Pokémon TCG releases that typically revisit cards from the previous year while adding a substantial selection of desirable collector cards and new artwork.

MEGA x MEGA Parade booster packs are currently reported to contain:

10 cards per booster pack

A guaranteed hit in every pack

Recommended retail price of ¥550 per pack

For comparison, a standard Japanese booster pack generally contains five cards and carries a much lower retail price.

That higher price isn't simply for additional cards. The appeal of High Class sets is usually the increased concentration of desirable pulls and the large Secret Rare lineup.

It's one reason sets such as VSTAR Universe and Terastal Festival ex became so popular with collectors.

Will MEGA x MEGA Parade Have New SAR Cards?

Almost certainly expect new artwork, although the actual Secret Rare lineup hasn't been revealed yet.

High Class Packs traditionally combine reprints with a significant selection of new collector-focused cards.

That's arguably where the real excitement surrounding MEGA x MEGA Parade begins.

If the set follows the established High Class formula, Pokémon that have already appeared during the current Mega Evolution era could potentially return with completely different artwork.

For now, however, specific SARs, ARs or other Secret Rares circulating in speculation should be treated as exactly that — speculation.

Until the cards are revealed, we won't know which Mega Evolutions are getting the premium artwork treatment.

Will MEGA x MEGA Parade Mostly Contain Reprints?

A substantial portion of the main set is expected to consist of returning cards.

That's normal for Japanese High Class Packs.

Rather than functioning entirely like a conventional expansion, these sets provide an opportunity to bring together important cards released throughout the previous year.

The new Secret Rare artwork is then what often transforms those returning cards into major collector targets.

This could make MEGA x MEGA Parade particularly interesting considering how heavily the current Pokémon TCG era has focused on Mega Evolution.

There are plenty of candidates for new artwork.

Could We See More Mega Evolution SARs?

This is currently one of the biggest unanswered questions.

The name MEGA x MEGA Parade strongly suggests that Mega Evolution won't simply make a token appearance.

With Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y already associated with the release, there's plenty of room for other Mega Pokémon from recent sets to return.

A High Class set is also an obvious opportunity to give popular Mega Evolutions new Special Art Rare treatments.

But until the first card reveals arrive, we'd avoid treating any particular Pokémon as confirmed.

The possibility is exciting enough without turning rumours into a fake set list.

MEGA x MEGA Parade comes at the end of a busy period for the Japanese Pokémon TCG.

A Japanese expansion headlined by Mega Lucario Z ex.

19 February 2027 – MEGA x MEGA Parade

The reported next Japanese High Class Pack, with Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y among its headline Pokémon.

It's becoming increasingly clear that Mega Evolution is going to remain a major part of the Pokémon TCG heading into 2027.

When Will We See the MEGA x MEGA Parade Card List?

Not yet.

At the moment, we have the reported release information and some details about the product format, but we're still waiting for the proper wave of card reveals.

More information is expected to emerge during autumn 2026.

Once reveals begin, we'll get a much clearer picture of the set size, returning Pokémon, Secret Rares and — most importantly for many collectors — the SAR lineup.

Will MEGA x MEGA Parade Release in English?

There is currently no confirmed English set called MEGA x MEGA Parade.

That doesn't mean the cards won't come to the English Pokémon TCG.

Japanese High Class releases frequently feed cards into later international special sets, but the English products don't necessarily retain the Japanese set name or replicate the Japanese card list exactly.

It's therefore too early to give MEGA x MEGA Parade an English release date or claim that an identical English set is coming.

For now, MEGA x MEGA Parade is a Japanese Pokémon TCG release.

MEGA x MEGA Parade Could Be One of 2027's Biggest Japanese Sets

There's still a lot we don't know, but the ingredients are certainly there.

A Japanese High Class Pack built around Mega Evolution, featuring Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y, with premium 10-card booster packs and the potential for a large collection of new Secret Rare artwork is going to attract plenty of attention.

The February release date also gives MEGA x MEGA Parade an unusual position in the Pokémon calendar, arriving after the enormous 30th anniversary celebrations rather than competing directly with them.

The real test will be the card reveals.

If MEGA x MEGA Parade delivers the kind of SAR lineup we've seen from previous Japanese High Class sets, 19 February 2027 could already be a date worth putting in the calendar for Japanese Pokémon collectors.
